2008-2009 SEASON
This Sunday will be a National
Day of Mourning, as a mark of respect for the loss of life and
devastation after the Victorian Bushfires, Surf
Lifesavers have been asked to wear black armbands whilst on patrol.
On a lighter note, GOOD LUCK to
all competitors competing at the Westpac NSW State Age Championships at
Swansea/Belmont. Also a huge thanks to all the Officials, Water Safety
and Volunteers for the mammoth job over the next 2 weekends.

LIFESAVING:
Attention
all Club Captains:
Please don't forget you only have 1 week after the end of the month to
enter patrol hours on Surfguard. It would be appreciated if you could
send in your YELLOW
Patrol sheets to the Branch Office.
Attention
all Chief Instructors:
Could all Blue Proficiency Work Cards for Juniors and Seniors please
be returned to the Branch Office. Also all Junior and Senior proficiencies
and Junior Surf Education Awards should now be entered onto
Surfguard.
Clubs are reminded that if they participate in any
event outside of Surf Lifesaving, Water safety, people power
etc you must
lodge a Special
Event Form to cover your members with Insurance. These
can be downloaded from our website MEMBERS - Downloadable Forms
LAST WORD:
Performance is such an important
aspect of surf lifesaving. When we return home from patrols we want to feel
satisfied in all that we have done during the day. We should always
strive to improve our performance, whether it be through our physical
ability, expanding our knowledge by attending training courses or
generally striving to do our best at all times.
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:
Youth
Development Camp: Applications
have now closed. Final arrangements are being made for a fantastic
weekend.
Rookie
Challenge Day:
This will be held on the 8th March 2009 commencing at 9.30am. All
Rookies are invited to the challenge day which will be held in
conjunction with the Youth Development Camp. Applications close on the
27th February 2009.
SENIOR FIRST AID:
Next
Senior First Aid Course is to be held on the 21st February 2009
